An expat story in Germany: Podcasting, paperwork and public service

An expat story in Germany: Podcasting, paperwork and public service

Join our co-founder Jana Koehler for a chat Nicole Palazzo.

Nicole is a US-American from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, living in Freiburg, Germany since 2017. Nicole decided to start the podcast “The Expat Cast” in order to create a community for herself and others feeling similarly stressed but blessed in their life abroad. She's a librarian by day, podcaster by night.

This episode is about Nicole's experience as an expat in Germany and what she would recommend to other (future) expats:

  • Myths vs. reality when moving to Germany

  • What is it like to live and work as an expat in Germany

  • Experiences with job search in Germany

  • The German workplace: Culture, communication and way of working

  • Differences in working in the public vs. private sector in Germany

  • Advice for internationals in Germany

  • Open Q&A: Ask us anything!

Take a listen!

The Expat Cast is the podcast where expats share their stories about fitting in, standing out, and every mishap on the journey to finding "home" abroad. Listen along for up-to-date tips & resources as well as honest takes on the best and worse of expat life.
